Yes. UK law requires a valid Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) before a residential or commercial property can be marketed for sale or rent. An EPC rates the energy efficiency of the building and is valid for 10 years. Learn more about our EPC assessment service.
SAP (Standard Assessment Procedure) calculations apply to domestic buildings — new homes, extensions and conversions — while SBEM (Simplified Building Energy Model) calculations apply to non-domestic and commercial buildings. Both demonstrate compliance with Part L of the Building Regulations. See our Services page for a full breakdown of each.
Turnaround depends on the project size and stage, but most desktop assessments (SAP, SBEM, EPC) are completed within a few working days of receiving your plans. On-site testing, such as air permeability, is usually scheduled within a week of enquiry. For an accurate estimate on your project, contact us with your requirements.
